Metrobank Card receives the Gold Apple Award at the Robinsons Supermarket Trade Partners Night last March 7, 2018 at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria.

Metrobank Card Corporation (MCC) was recently awarded the Gold Apple Award for Credit Card Promotion of the Year at the Robinsons Supermarket Trade Partners Night 2017 for its Robinsons Mastercard Payday Rebate promotion, Payday Payback.

The award-winning Payday Payback program of MCC ran from August to December 2017 and enabled Robinsons Mastercard holders to earn 10% rebate for their purchases of at least P1,000 on all payday weekends in all Robinsons stores. The Robinsons Mastercard was introduced by MCC in 2016 in partnership with the Robinson Retail Group. It is the only credit card in the Philippines that gives its cardholders shopping points, payday rebates, and exclusive rewards at Robinsons stores.

According to Madelyn Razo, Marketing Officer of Robinsons Supermarket Corporation, "The Credit Card Promotion of the Year Award is given to a partner bank that initiated innovative and customer-oriented promotions and activities, resulting to contributions to the company." During the Payday Payback promo period, Robinsons Mastercard holders participated and felt the benefit of purchasing items from the participating stores. This produced total payday billings of around PHP 43 million, which resulted to significant sales for the Robinsons Retail Group.

On hand to receive the award from Robinsons Supermarket President and Chief Operating Officer Robina Gokongwei-Pe and General Manager Jody S. Gadia were Metrobank Card Deputy Cards Head Peaches Cuenco, Head of Marketing – Usage and Portfolio Mon Tioseco, Head of Retail, Loyalty and Merchant Partnerships John Ko, and Senior Segment Manager Karen Zavalla.

The Trade Partners Night is a yearly event hosted by Robinsons Supermarket, a subsidiary of Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc., for its Trade and Non-Trade Partners. It recognizes and awards partners on their respective performances for the year. Since 2011, MCC has received a total of 6 awards from the Trade Partners Night for its promotions made in partnership with Robinsons Supermarket.
