Responsibilities

The position is responsible for providing general and routine technical support to database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies, and providing Information Technology with a long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities facing MCC. It is extremely important that database systems offer the highest reliability, stability, integrity, security and performance possible.

Requirements

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology/Management or equivalent field
• At least 3 years of work related experience in IT Technical Support Management with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles and practices
• At least 2 years of experience with Database Administration of Microsoft SQL Server
• Must have experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques
• Must have knowledge in reporting and query tools and practices
• Must have experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems
• Must have experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Must have technical documentation skills
• Must have knowledge in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server
• Must have experience in implementing operational automation using scripts
• Must have the ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
• Knowledgeable in Credit Card Systems is an advantage
• Knowledgeable in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
• Knowledgeable in Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) and other applicable standards
• Demonstrated ability to leverage appropriate technical tools to perform day-to-day tasks, root-cause analysis and service restoration (such as backup, restore, failover, log interpretation, and performance monitoring)
• Knowledgeable in vmWare infrastructure
• Knowledgeable in Windows and Non-Windows operating system (Windows, RedHat and Oracle Linux)
• Proficient in installation & troubleshooting of Microsoft and Oracle database
• Knowledgeable in scripting and automation (Cron, TaskScheduler, Powershell, Visual basic, Oracle scripting and Batch file)
• Knowledgeable in Local and wide area Networking
• Has applied strong analytical skills to review information and formulate alternative solutions to problems
• Has demonstrated ability to adapt and stay current with changing technology of databases
