We are one with the nation on the implementation of Republic Act. 11469, otherwise known as “The Bayanihan to Heal as One Act”, the law enacted granting the President of the Philippines additional authority to combat the 2020 coronavirus pandemic in the Philippines. We express our utmost support on the 30-day grace period on credit card payments.

We would like to give our unwavering commitment to serve you during these challenging times. We have updated our Skip Payment Program to comply with the implementing rules and regulations issued by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas as specified in the Memorandum Nos. M-2020-017, M-2020-018, M-2020-028 and M-2020-042. Our Skip Payment Program automatically grants all our cardholders a 30-day grace period for credit card billings falling due from March 17 to June 7, 2020 without incurring penalty interest on finance charges and late charges.

We encourage you to keep your credit card in good credit standing. Should you opt to pay for your credit card(s) to avoid the assessment of the finance charges, you may refer to our payment channels found in the Frequently Asked Questions below to conveniently pay for your credit card.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Who are qualified to avail the Skip Payment Program?

Both individual and corporate credit cardholders in good credit standing and in delinquent status, and regardless of whether they are paying for their credit cards in full or paying the minimum amount due or less than the total amount due, are covered by the 30-day grace period.

2. When will the 30-day grace period commence?

The 30-day grace period shall commence from the payment due date falling due from March 17 to June 7, 2020.

3. Will the 30-day grace period apply even if I live in an area that is now on General Community Quarantine (GCQ) or Modified GCQ?

Yes. The mandatory grace period shall apply to ALL AREAS including those that are on GCQ or MECQ. Such application will cease once the ECQ or MECQ are lifted in the entire country or until further notice in compliance with The Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

4. What are the charges that can be reversed under the Bayanihan Law?
The following charges can be reversed under the Bayanihan Law:

  • Late charges billed during the Enhanced Community Quarantine period regardless of whether the account is in good credit standing or in delinquent status and regardless of payment behavior.
  • Finance Charge for cardholders who have made full payments on or before the due date i n the last six (6) months.
  • Penalty interest or the finance charge assessed on the finance charge billed to the account due to non-payment of the total amount due.
  • Finance Charge for cardholders who were able to pay in full on the grace due date

IMPORTANT NOTE: We would like to secure your kind understanding should there be duplicate reversal of charges that will be posted in your account as a result of a manual processing error. Please be assured that rectification of duplicate reversals will be processed accordingly as soon as normal operations resume after Community Quarantine Period. Should you wish to avoid the billing of finance charges, you may opt to pay for your credit card online, via other bank channels, and other payment channels.

5. Where can I pay for my credit card?

You may conveniently pay for your Metrobank credit card(s) through our payment channels indicated in https://www.facebook.com/notes/metrobank-card/available-payment-channels/3023086824425166/ which is being updated on a regular basis.

6. What will happen to my Automatic Debit payment arrangements?

Automatic Debit Arrangements will remain uninterrupted and will continue to be processed as regular payments. Please ensure that your accounts are adequately funded. In case you need to transfer funds from your other bank account to your Metrobank deposit account, you may transfer via Instapay or Pesonet.

In the event that you wish to temporarily suspend your Automatic Debit Arrangement during the Enhanced or Modified Community Quarantine period, please notify us by calling our hotline at 88-700-700 or send us an email at [email protected]

If your payment was already executed via Automatic Debit Arrangement, we can refund your payment back to your Metrobank deposit account FREE of charge.

Please note that by reversing your payment, this will automatically result to the assessment of finance charges and penalty interest as applicable depending on your Automatic Debit Instruction on whether full payment is made or minimum payment is made. Please refer to FAQ#4 for the waiver of charges qualification.

7. Will the non-payment of my credit card(s) affect my credit standing?

The non-payment of your credit card while on Enhanced or Modified Community Quarantine Period will not affect your credit standing in view of the payment holiday. The non-payment of your credit card on your next due date after the payment extension will affect your credit standing.

8. How will you process my postdated checks for my payment arrangement in view of my account’s delinquent status?

We shall slide the deposit of your postdated check to your next due date after the end of the Enhanced or Modified Quarantine Period. As such, the term of your payment arrangement with due dates falling within the Enhanced or Modified Community Quarantine period will automatically be extended by 30 days. Please find illustration for your reference on the assumption that end of the Enhanced and Modified Quarantine period is May 31, 2020.

Please make sure that your bank account is sufficiently funded to cover check payments that we will start to deposit after the end of the mandatory grace period.

Kaisa ng bansa ang Metrobank sa pagpapatupad ng Republic Act. 11469, kilala bilang "Ang Bayanihan to Heal as One Act", ang batas na nagbibigay sa Pangulo ng Pilipinas ng karagdagang kapangyarihan upang labanan ang 2020 coronavirus pandemic sa bansa. Lubos naming ipinapahayag ang aming suporta sa pagbibigay ng karagdagang 30 araw na palugit sa pagbabayad ng inyong credit card.

Nais naming ipaabot ang aming pangako na maglingkod sa inyo upang sama-sama tayong makaahon mula sa krisis na dulot ng COVID-19. Nagkaroon ng mga pagbabago sa aming Skip Payment Program bilang pagsunod sa Implementing Rules and Regulations na inilabas ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas na nakasaad sa Memorandum Nos. M-2020-017, M-2020-018, M-2020-028 at M-2020-042. 1. Sino ang kabilang sa aming Skip Payment Program?

Lahat ng aming cardholders, indibidwal o corporate, updated man ang account o delinkwente, nagbabayad ng buo o minimum amount due o mas mababa sa totalamount due ay kabilang sa aming Skip Payment Program.

2. Kailan magsisimula ang karagdagang 30 araw na palugit sa pagbabayad?

Ang karagdagang 30 araw na palugit sa pagbabayad ay applicable kung ang due date ng inyong credit card ay napapaloob mula Marso 17 hanggang Hunyo 7, 2020.

3. Maipapatupad ba ang 30 araw ng palugit kahit nakatira ako sa isang lugar na nasa General Community Quarantine?

Ang ipinag-uutos na 30 araw na palugit ay ipapatupad sa LAHAT ng LUGAR kabilang and ang mga lugar naka-General Community Quarantine o Modified Community Quarantine. Ang nasabing palugit ay ititigil sa sandaling ang Enhanced Community Quarantine or MECQ ay inalis na sa buong bansa or hanggang sa pag-anunsyo na tapos na ang 30 araw na palugit.

4. Ano ang mga charges na maaaring i-reverse sa ilalim ng Bayanihan Law?

Ang mga sumusunod na charges ay maaaring i-reverse sa ilalim ng Bayanihan Law:

  • Late charges
  • Finance Charge para sa mga cardholders na nakakapagbayad ng buo sa due date o mas maaga sa due date sa nakalipas na anim (6) na buwan.
  • Penalty interest sa finance charge na dulot ng finance charge sa account dahil sa hindi pagbabayad ng inyong total amount due.
  • Finance charge para sa mga cardholders na nakapagbayad ng buo sakop ng mandatory grace due date.

Paraan ng pag compute ng charges

MAHALAGANG TANDAAN: Nais naming hingin ang inyong pang-unawa kung mayroong dobleng reversal na maipusta sa inyong account na posibleng dulot ng manual processing error. Titiyakin po namin na maipusta ang kaukulang adjustment sa sandaling manumbalik sa normal ang aming operasyon pagkatapos ng Quarantine Period.

Upang maiwasan ang pagkakaroon ng finance charges, maaari kayong magbayad ng inyong credit card online, o sa payment channels ng ibang bangko at iba pang mga payment channels.

5. Saan ako pwedeng magbayad ng aking credit card?

6. Ano ang mangyayari sa aking Automatic Debit Arrangement (ADA)?

Hanggat wala kaming natanggap na abiso para suspendihin and inyong ADA, patuloy namin itong ipo-proseso. Mangyari po lamang na tiyakin na ang inyong Metrobank deposit account ay may sapat na pondo. Kung sakaling kailangan ninyong maglipat ng pondo mula sa ibang bangko patungo sa inyong Metrobank account, maaari ninyong gamitin ang Instapay o Pesonet.
Kung nais ninyo na pansamantalang suspindihin ang Automatic Debit Arrangement bunsod ng Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, mangyaring ipagbigay-alam sa amin sa pamamagitan ng pagtawag sa aming hotline sa 88-700-700 o magpadala sa amin ng email sa [email protected].

Kung na-debit na namin ang inyong account, maaari kayong mag-request na i-credit ito sa inyong Metrobank deposit account na walang processing charges ngunit may kaukulang finance charges.
Maaari po ninyong basahin ang FAQ #4 upang malaman ang kwalipikasyon para sa pagre-reverse ng charges.

7. Makakaapekto ba ang hindi pagbabayad ng aking (mga) credit card sa aking credit standing?

Hindi. Subalit, ang hindi pagbabayad ng inyong credit card sa inyong susunod na due date pagkatapos ng karagdagang 30 araw na palugit sa pagbabayad ay makakaapekto sa inyong credit standing.

8. Paano ipo-proseso ang mga postdated na tseke para sa aking payment arrangement?

Ipagpapaliban namin ang pagdedeposito ng mga postdated na tseke sa susunod na due date pagkatapos ng Enhanced or Modified Community Qurantine period. Dahil dito, ang termino ng inyong payment arrangement ay madadagdagan ng 30 na araw. Para higit na maintindihan, tingnan ang ilustrasyong ito sa pag-aakala na ang katapusan ng Enhanced or Modified Community Quarantine ay sa Mayo 31, 2020.

Siguraduhin lamang na may sapat na pondo ang inyong account bago matapos ang itinakdang palugit.
